2020 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe – Debut, Release Date, Specs
The coupe sedan of Monaco will be unveiled in November and marketed starting in 2020. The future BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé could mount a brand new 4-cylinder TwinPowerTurbo 306 hp.
Debut in Los Angeles
The first official images of a decidedly disguised prototype of the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, the weapon of the House of Monaco to challenge models such as Mercedes CLA and Audi A3 Sedan were released. Despite the heavy make-up, we can glimpse sporting and streamlined shapes, according to the philosophy of the coupé sedans whose commercial success continues undaunted for some years now.
The short, high tail can be glimpsed and cleverly conceals the tailgate just like the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé. On the front, you can see the very classic BMW “double kidney”, while the back shows its own stylistic originality.
2020 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe Under The Hood
The sporty and aggressive lines of the New BMW 2 Series Coupe are matched by highly performing engines. In fact, highly accredited corridor voices give for certain, the adoption of the brilliant 3-cylinder 1.5 and 4-cylinder turbos 2.0 with powers ranging from about 150 hp to 210 hp.
These engines will most likely be associated with front-wheel drive, but the adoption of an integral xDrive system cannot be ruled out. Furthermore, the top of the range at motor level should be represented by a brand new 4-cylinder TwinPowerTurbo with 306 hp. Moreover, a plug-in hybrid version will probably be based, probably based on the 3-cylinder turbo 1.5.
In addition, the 6-speed manual system with the familiar maneuverability typical of BMW transmissions and a double-clutch, most likely 8-speed, are provided for the gearbox. The suspension layout is sophisticated, above all where a real 5-link multilink system will be located.
Automotive enthusiasts know that an excellent rear-end is able to positively influence the behavior of the front axle. Expect, therefore, an excellent cornering balance from a real BMW that will not regret rear-wheel-drive much.
