2020 Range Rover Sport HST – New Luxury SUV With Eco Label
2020 Range Rover Sport HST | Land Rover has introduced a new engine for its Range Rover Sport that allows it to obtain the ECO label of the DGT thanks to its 48-volt micro-hybridization system.
The power is no longer at odds with the greener labels of the DGT. Not since the 48-volt micro hybridization appeared and was imposed on large engines, both gasoline and diesel, but limiting the expulsion of pollutant emissions to the point of being considered as hybrids by the DGT itself and, therefore, overcoming the barrier of label C and obtaining the ECO.
In this case, we talk about the New Range Rover Sport HST and its new Mild-Hybrid petrol engine, 3.0 liters and six cylinders in line capable of generating up to 400 HP of power and deliver a torque of 550 Nm. Part of the merit of these figures is distributed by the electric supercharger, which delivers the power immediately, and a double-entry turbocharger.
As far as efficiency is concerned, its intelligent variable valve lift system, together with the electric motor that recovers the energy lost in decelerations, and manages it when necessary, are absolutely key to achieving lower consumption. The result is a car that consumes 20 percent less than the V6 of gasoline it comes to replace and with emissions, 75 percent lower thanks to its particle filter.
The main advantage, as we say, is the possibility of having a very powerful block while we can show on the front windshield the ECO badge of the DGT , which allows us to park on the street and circulate in the days of environmental restrictions of the big cities, as well as using the Bus-HOV lane despite only circulating one person inside or parking in the BE zone for free and without time limitation.
This new 48-volt Mild-Hybrid engine can already be ordered at official dealerships (with a starting price of 113,400 euros) and debuts in a special edition called Range Rover Sport HST, incorporating some aesthetic elements that will differentiate it from other models.
Thus, this HST edition incorporates specific anagrams in carbon fiber distributed by the bonnet, the grille, the side ventilation grilles, and the boot lid. On the outside, the standard red brake calipers and the ability to mount them in gray are also added.
