Seat continues its strategy of multiplying its sales of gas cars up to 2020. After the Arona TGI, the next one will be an Ateca propelled by compressed natural gas (CNG), and here is The New 2020 Seat Ateca TGI.
Well, Nice… and cheap for the consumer. Seat remains convinced that the short-term future in its range goes through the gas to the definitive implantation of the electric car. This is already demonstrated today with its Mii, Ibiza or León capable of propelling itself with new bi-fuel systems, both with petrol and compressed natural gas (CNG). The brand, together with companies like Gas Natural Fenosa, is carrying out a plan to create more points of refueling for Spain in order to fulfill its strategic objective: to multiply by 10 its sales of gas cars up to 2020.
To the new seat Ibiza 1.0 TGI that arrived in January, the brand has also confirmed the next release for December of this same year of seat Arona TGI, its new small SUV powered by natural gas. It will then be the step immediately prior to the announcement of other SUV’s to adopt this efficient system of propulsion: the Seat Ateca.
2020 Seat Ateca TGI Release Date
Sources of the Spanish company have confirmed to us, therefore, that the 2020 Seat Ateca TGI (whose launch was in the last months under study) will be a reality next year, in 2019. We have to remember, as we already have, that even Cupra, Seat’s new independent brand, was studying launching its first sports models propelled by gas.
The benefit of this type of version (here you will find the best report on everything you need to know about gas cars) is obvious: a good performance and consumption, add a much lower cost of use even than Diesel given the cheapest price of the combust Ible. And it would also have to add its tax advantages and the circulation privileges that it has in restrictions thanks to being cataloged with the eco-label of the DGT.
For the moment, seat España does not advance more information, nor official confirmation, of this new seat Ateca TGI. However, thanks to information filtered by our German AMS colleagues, we can anticipate some detail that will presumably show this new gas Ateca.
2020 Seat Ateca Engine Specs; New 1.5 TSI 130 hp engine?
To begin with, the new Seat Ateca TGI should take the new engine that already prepares the brand for, almost in total security, to release in the new Lion. It is the same new petrol 1.5 TSI turbocharged and with cylinder disconnection system but already modified by the brand to be able to operate both with gasoline and compressed natural gas. Therefore, as with the current 1.4 TSI, will lower its power up to approximately 130 hp, more than enough to move well to the SUV.
Together with this new mechanics, Seat also works with the possibility of increasing its gas autonomy, one of the greatest criticisms received by its current TGI models. Thus, instead of two gas tanks, the brand new vehicles (León and Ateca) could already choose to mount 3 gas tanks up to 8 kg. Located in the same way under the boot floor, should not cut much more space or boot because, in return, Seat would cut the capacity of the fuel tank.
And it is that, adapted to always operate with gas while there is fuel, these Seat TGI are more logical so much the more you use them obviously with CNG. The goal of the brand is that gasoline becomes a real reserve fuel, with a small tank that is used only in the face of emergencies or the inability to refuel compressed natural gas.
Taking advantage of this new version TGI, the Seat Ateca 2020 Model Year could also receive some update, which would affect above all the introduction of a digital instrumentation as they already offer the latest innovations of the Volkswagen group, and possibly to the review of Its multimedia and info-entertainment systems, which would adopt the latest available software. For now, this is the only thing we can count on a Seat Ateca that, if it is not already, will be even more interesting with its new version of gas.
