New Audi Q4 e-Tron SUV – More than Electric Coupe

New Audi Q4 e-Tron SUV – More than Electric Coupe | The Audi Q4 will exist at the end. Although it has been talked about its arrival in the market for the autumn of 2019, the definitive confirmation that this hypothetical Q3 coupe will officially be called Q3 Sportback, left in the air the launching of this denomination. But the mark of the four rings already clear us the doubts: in the next Geneva Motor Show, at the beginning of March, we will see a Q4 e-Tron Concept, actually a first study of the future SUV that will launch.

2020 Audi Q4 e-Tron Concept

This SUV, as confirmed by Audi itself, should reach the market in the production version between the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021 and, located in its range between Q3 and Q5, will be the access level to the electric SUV once it has been launched. Audi E-Tron superior. Like all SUVs with even numbers of the brand, it will have a coupe format … although for now, it is unknown if, in addition to electric propulsion, it could reach the market also transformed into a Q4 Diesel and gasoline.

Audi has already unveiled to us today the first sketches of this Q4 e-Tron Concept that we will see in Geneva, and that we also complete in the photo gallery of this article with all the recreations of our illustrator Schulte. Aesthetically it can be seen that it will be a fairly robust model, with three-dimensional effect grid, narrow and thin headlights, high shoulders, soft fall roofline, widened wheel arches, large tires and with the illuminated E-Tron logo.

Already inside, this first sketch surprises us with a very angular design and little superfluous, reduced in details to the essentials. The interior of this Audi Q4 e-Tron Concept offers four individual seats with integrated headrests, digital instrumentation, information projected on the windshield and new information and entertainment screen in widescreen format. There is also a lot of storage space in sight.

New MEB Platform

As another of its great novelties, this Q4 e-Tron will become the first Audi model developed under the new modular platform (or kit) for electric vehicles MEB. This new architecture has already announced that it allows the use of batteries between 48 and 111 kWh capacity, although sources in Germany say that the higher ones will be left for high segments and will not be used in this SUV coupe.

2020 Audi Q4 E-Tron Pricing

Possibly this new Audi Q4 e-Tron arrives in a variant of traction to a single axis, although installing another electric motor in some version could also have total traction. If we look at the new VW ID Neo compact that Volkswagen will launch as electric this year, it is possible that this Q4 has the same scheme: between 170 and 204 total Horsepower, with a battery of not less than 60 kWh capacity and around 500 kilometers of electric autonomy.

2020 Audi Q4 e-Tron Price

Well, according to our German colleagues in Auto Motor und Sport, this Audi Q4 could be sold in your country for approximately 45,000 euros. If Volkswagen announces that its Neo ID will be equivalent in price to a Golf TDI, the logic in Audi is that this Q4 costs a little more than an equivalent Q3 TDI … in the same way that Q8 costs more than a Q7. We will have to wait to check it.
